Sri Lanka Insurance to open Rs.350 million collision centre
Sri Lanka Insurance will open Asia's best collision centre in Colombo shortly at a cost of Rs.350 million.

The Centre will have the latest equipment available in the industry to handle all type of modern vehicles. Sri Lanka Insurance has already sent some of their engineers abroad for training in several overseas plants.

Director, Sri Lanka Insurance, Damien Fernando said that the repair centre will take away the entire hassle a person has to go through in getting his vehicle repaired after an accident. It would operate round the clock and will turn around the car in the shortest possible time. The damaged vehicle will be collected and delivered to the client's doorstep after the repair is completed. The client will also have the use of a replacement car during the repair. The client can monitor the progress of the repair via internet, Fernando said.

In case of an accident, a qualified motor engineer will be present within the quickest possible time to asses the damage to the vehicle and approve the repair to the vehicles. This service will be available island wide, he said.

Sri Lanka Insurance call centres will be open 24 hours daily throughout the year. These call centres will be manned by personnel who are able to answer any queries on insurance policies, Fernando said. There is no need to obtain copies of statements from the police to process a repair claims their objective is to make the payment in the quickest possible time.

Being the only insurance company that has an online branch network of over 75 locations they are able to electronically relay the data with photographs to the head office for immediate processing. Another advantage is that the owner of the car will have an automatic personal accident over for Rs.100,000.

This will be extended up to four people in the accident. Hospital bills for injured personnel will also be reimbursed.
