Sri Lanka Insurance “Nagaraja” is an exclusive medical insurance scheme that has been introduced with the intention of providing special care to Buddhist clergy, their parents and siblings. The “Nagaraja” insurance policy is designed in such a way that the customers/devotees can handover as an offering of pirikara to sanga”. As the national insurer Sri Lanka Insurance is on a mission to inculcate the importance of insurance among general masses and is striving to protect the people of nation minimizing the protection gap of Sri Lanka. ‘Nagaraja’ is one such initiative taken by Sri Lanka Insurance for the perpetuation of Budhdha sasana.
Hospital Daily Allowance for inpatient treatment in a government or private hospital - Per day Rs.1,000 subject to Maximum limit of Rs.15,000 per event/annum
Reimbursement of expenses incurred on drugs & tests, scans, x-rays undergone whilst being an inpatient in a Government / private hospital - Maximum limit up to Rs.10,000 per event/annum
The premium is only Rs. 2,000 per person per year. (Inclusive of taxes)
This insurance can be obtained for the following personnel.
- The Buddhist monks
- Parents of the monks
- Siblings (brothers and sisters) of the monks
